New Release from Ted Crutchfield

For me, the most fascinating and informative journey back in history would be AD 33, along an old dirt road winding toward the small unremarkable town by the name of Emmaus, nearly seven miles northeast of Jerusalem. Journey with me as we investigate the imagined words of Jesus of Nazareth as he spoke to Cleophas and Mary, encouraging them not to give up hope because the Messiah was, after all, predetermined to suffer and be a sacrifice according to the prophecies of their Torah! Jesus says to us, as he said to that couple, "How foolish you are and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Messiah, the Christ, have to suffer thus before entering into His glory?" (Luke 24:25-26). Jesus began with Moses (the author of the first five books of Scripture, the Pentateuch), then followed with all the prophets and psalms, enlightening the couple about the passages throughout the Scriptures that refer to Christ--the Messiah! This is where we will spend the remaining chapters or vignettes of In the Cool of the Evening I Walked with Jesus.

New Release from Paulette Jackson

When asked, "What is poetry?" my response might be, "Poetry is the language of the soul that sees the human experience, understands the feelings, and gives meaning to the journey. I might even describe it as the musical score of the heart, sung from our lips, seen and heard with our ears and eyes."
For This Life and Love: A Grace in Time, is a reflection of the many sides of life, reminding us of this gift we get to experience every day and have the privilege to watch it unfold through the moments of time, each with their own rhythm and rhyme, helping us to see the goodness, of our belonging.

New Release from Stanton O. Berg

While this book is the autobiography of Stanton O. Berg’s (Stan’s) life and times, it is also a short history of United States during the Great Depression and also the history of the development of the forensic sciences with some inclusion of Sherlock Holmes in that history. Stan’s four years army service in the Counter Intelligence Corp. at Baltimore, Maryland, and his weekend work with the Baltimore Police Crime Laboratory is reviewed. In looking back at Stan’s forensic science career, one will find Stan handled 1000 cases, testified in legal proceedings over 350 times. Stan with his wife, June, as his administrative assistant, attended 170 forensic science conferences in the US, Canada, and Europe. Stan often was a conference speaker and four times served as conference chairman. As Stan looks back at his career, he finds that, in some way or the other, Stan has been involved in almost every important case during the wild 60s and 70s—the assassinations of President John Kennedy, Martin Luther King, and Robert Kennedy, Chicago Police shooting raid on Black Panther Headquarters, and the SLA ambush shooting of Oakland School Supt. with cyanide-tipped bullets. Stan’s career also consisted of much investigation and testimony in the area of civil litigation, gun accidents and gun safety designs.

Changing Names - New Release

In any family tree are names that mean something or nothing to the present-day members of that family. For the Ellison family, there are names that have been the center of tales of family lore and some that mean nothing at all to them. One member of Mark Ellison’s family decides to research the roots of the family and finds that the family name has changed time and again.
From Scotland to the New World, from the beautiful valley in West Virginia to the family farm in Ohio, a family history is viewed through the eyes of those who lived it. This is the story of only one branch of the family tree.
Love and loss, pain and joy, the tales of the Ellison family and their antecedents are told as they lived faithful in their love of God. Although this is a work of fiction, it is based on events that could have occurred. At least in the mind of the author.

New Release from Ivory Shepherd-Roberson, Ph.D.

Oprah Winfrey’s Master Class Series in 2009 on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) purported the idea that our lives can be a class for others. This book was birthed on that premise, to share my journey as a single parent in the home. The number of single parents continues to rise in the United States of America. This book was written reading God’s hand in my affairs retrospectively; in the context of praise, thanksgiving, and victory.
It is my hope that by sharing my spiritual analysis of the journey and ultimately witnessing a successful outcome, I can inspire others on their journey.

New Release from Jeanne M. Arensman

Our author, Jeanne Arensman, is a seventy-nine-year-old mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She has been a widow since 1981 when her husband Don died of cancer. There were eight children to raise—one son and seven daughters. Now was a time for faith and courage.
The journey ahead required strategy, daily attention, patience, discipline, and lots of prayer. Among the noise of life and the screams of silence, everyone was continually challenged. She prayed to survive while remaining faithful to what she believed. She wrote it all down. Only in Silence a Little Louder is for everyone who has walked such a journey.
“As you turn the pages of the book you read, you will smile, you will hurt, you will cry. You will know that I’ve touched your heart when you no longer need to ask why?”
At the end, there are “No more words. No more sound. They’ve all been spent. They’ve all be spent. Did we find any common ground?”
Yes, and we survived!

New Release from Tiffany Stroman

Abortion is a taboo subject. Abortion is not a matter of policy, but instead, at its core is a heart issue. For it reveals both where our hearts stand as well as who reigns--Christ or Self. For those of us who in the past have chosen Self, this book is for you. This book is for those women who are willing to look into their heart and allow Christ to cleanse and heal them, and rid them of the guilt, shame, and embarrassment of abortion.

Reflections - New Release

The author uses an honest and vibrant approach in “telling the story” in this collection of poems, while reflecting on memorable events in her life and the influences of those around her. Many of the poems depict what it was like growing up as a baby boomer on a rural prairie near and in Whiteface and Levelland, both small West Texas oil field boomtowns. The author’s remarkable past is exemplified with family customs in Christmases past and experiences of living in the country and visiting grandparents on their farm, for which you may relate. The author also includes the blessings and mishaps of being a pastor’s wife and the versatility of the ministry as well as her relationship with her mother, her family, and God. Many experiences and life’s lessons are conveyed within this author’s rhythmic verse, in addition to: humor, love, humility, disappointment, frustration, compassion and incomparable joy, and last but not least, a few blunders and tragedies that occurred during the author’s lifetime. Some comments by readers and poetry connoisseurs indicate that this author’s poetry is impressive! Ten inspirational poems, written by the author’s loving and departed mother, Wilma Bryant Hunnicutt, are included in the “In Tribute” section of this book.

New Release - Ocean View

This is a very readable Christian book putting forth the ideas of Christianity and evil, with Christianity being a clear winner. The story revolves around a troubled family living in an old, once-beautiful, twenty-seven-room Victorian home on the coast of Maine. After many years of neglect, the once-beautiful home is now filled with mystery and sadness. With its many secret passageways, widow’s walk, and pictures with eyes that seem to follow your every move, this sad old home seems to have taken on a life of its own. With a failing grandfather and her twin sister missing, Carrie receives an urgent message from her grandfather’s faithful butler and long-time friend asking her to please return home, that her grandfather is ill and calling for her, and she is desperately needed. Filled with fear and guilt, Carrie takes an extended leave of absence from her newspaper job in California and returns, praying that she will make it in time to be with her grandfather and find her beloved twin sister. New Release from Dr. Daniel Robinson and Dr. Dan Johnson

Imagine you are sitting in a lovely garden. It is in the early hours, when mist enshrouds the liminal space between night and day. Or it may be in the cool of the evening, as a pallet of color begins to emerge just beyond the horizon. You are drawn to quiet reflection and wish to express the musings of your heart in word or verse, in watercolor sketch or photographic image. Such was the experience of the authors of this invitation to spiritual formation through interactive reflective journaling.

Inspired by daily readings from Henri Nouwen’s very personal journal, The Inner Voice of Love: A Journey through Anguish to Freedom, the authors embarked on a several-month process of journaling back and forth to each other: one writing poetic reflections during their “misty morning” quiet time, the other responding with a story that came to mind during their “grace-filled evening”. In this compilation, the authors share excerpts from their own interactive journaling process, provide readers with suggestions for prayer and reflection, and encourage other seekers to add another layer to the story through their own journal reflections.

New Release from Kate Groves Dahl

Life is full of ups and downs for all of us. This is no different for Kate Dahl and her family. Her parents had a rocky marriage, which led to heartache and worry in her young life. She went away to college on her own with all the worries and fear that come with it. Next, with three days' notice, she got a job teaching school, and off she went to start this adventure with much trepidation and worry.
This turned out to be a great blessing as she met and married her husband, Kent, during this time. For the next thirty-seven years, their lives have been full of much joy as they laughed and played together with their five children, and now with their fifteen grandchildren. There have also been moments of such devastation that moving forward in a positive way was incredibly difficult.
There was a fire, a tornado and unimaginable loss along the way. All of these hard things made Kate feel as though there would never be joy again in her life. This is her story of how she used her faith to keep pressing forward and, after years of struggle, feel true joy again.
