Like devout Christians everywhere, Abdiel the donkey sought to love and serve his master, Jesus. His service began when he brought the Savior's mother to Bethlehem, where Mother Mary would give birth to the Son of God. When his service ends in the shadow of the cross, Abdiel comes to understand that he will forever carry the burden of the sorrow of the Crucifixion upon his back to remind us all of our God's great love and our Savior's ultimate sacrifice.
