Are the lies you’re being fed causing indigestion?
Select truth nuggets instead.
Are you under attack from misinformation bombardment?
Seek shelter from the storm.
Are you shaking your head at society’s ever-changing norms of acceptability?
Stand firm on the foundation of faith.
Take a minute to catch your breath.
Inhale deeply through your nose.
Exhale slowly through your mouth.
In the midst of the madness, don’t lose sight of the message. The Bible reveals Who’s ultimately in control. God made order out of chaos in the beginning, and He does what is humanly impossible.
Pause, Ponder, Pray quotes Scripture and is followed by poetry or prose. Next comes the reader’s opportunity to reflect, recalibrate, and respond before resuming whatever.
Avoid being absorbed in the rat race
Discover and assume your own pace
Before things here get any worse
Start each day with a Bible verse
Mull over truth therein contained
For from knowledge wisdom may be gained
About the Author
Kathleen M. Tiedemann is an author/poet/wordsmith. She served as an administrative specialist in the Air Force and was both a secretary and an instructor for the Adult Basic Education Department at a community college. Since retiring, she has tutored elementary students in reading and volunteered as a library shelver.
She has resided in ten different states in the US and also lived in Germany. Relocating frequently taught her adaptability while time spent in Bible study and journaling has strengthened her faith. Letter writing kept her connected with family and friends across the miles as she discovered that peace is possible when the Lord is trusted with today and tomorrow.
Education, others and her own, has been a priority. She pursued and earned a college degree majoring in English. The four-year degree took fifteen years to achieve, but with perseverance she stayed the course, heading toward and reaching this academic goal.
She has been a written-word enthusiast since cursive writing, spelling, and creative thinking were taught and valued. A few of the books that have inspired and helped refine her perspective are Hope for Each Day by Billy Graham, The Poems and Prayers of Helen Steiner Rice, compiled by Virginia J. Ruehlmann, and The Valley of Vision: A Collection of Puritan Prayers and Devotions, edited by Arthur Bennett.
Kathleen wrote Pause, Ponder, Pray, her first published work, to encourage readers to consider unchanging God’s life-changing Gospel. From beginning to end, the love for God and Spirit empowerment directed this work.
